TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons Review
TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons combine the looks of a traditional set of irons with the traits of game improvement models to produce a series of clubs that give a low-handicapper the needed control and shot-shaping ability along with a healthy dose of forgiveness.
Design changes for this series include a thinner top line and shorter blade length, which gives the TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons a more professional look at address. New sound and vibration dampening adjustments, most notably a vibration-management cavity badge, add to their feel, and in that regard they perform similar to a forged blade.

The cavity-backed irons allow for more discretionary weight on the perimeter of the club. It’s been moved to the heel and toe pads, which enhances stability in addition to promoting a higher MOI, and the leading and trailing edges of the clubhead are designed to sweep cleanly through the turf, making it easier to get solid contact on shots from the rough. The company’s Inverted Cone Technology expands the size of the sweet spot, making for a large hitting zone that straightens out off-center hits.
TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons carry an MSRP of $899, and are available in graphite and steel shafts for both right and left-handed golfers.
