Ping S58 Irons Review

The Ping S58 Irons combine a high MOI with the shot-shaping ability of a blade iron to offer low- to mid-handicappers a series of clubs that is both forgiving and tour-level accurate.

As the successor to the Ping S57 series. the Ping S58 Irons are designed for low- to mid-handicappers. They have a high MOI thanks to the tungsten weighting and urethane insert that help create extra discretionary weight that is redistributed to the perimeter of the club. That's accentuated by the cavity back and the additional toe weighting.

One innovation that moves this series beyond the Ping S57s is the dynamic center of gravity (CG) positioning. The CG in each iron is calibrated to match the loft of the club, ensuring an optimal launch angle every time. Between that and the hitting surface, machined out of stainless steel and covered by precision-milled grooves, the Ping S58 Irons are consistent and reliable. They are a particularly good fit for improving players, who want a greater ability to shape their shots than most game improvement irons provide, but also need the forgiveness of clubs suited towards a higher handicapper.

The Ping S58 Irons have an MSRP of $899, in both right and left-handed models with graphite or steel shafts.
